Week 9 update – Puppies are still available

As I write this, it is bitter sweet, we have 5 puppies that have gone to their forever homes. We now have 4 puppies that are still looking for homes. All the puppies have completed their allergy testing for foods and no allergies were detected. They are now eating meals that comprise raw for some meals and commercial dog food for others so they are ready for any meal plans. We prefer a raw diet or at least supplementing with raw do to the beneficial effects of raw in a poodles diet.

If you are still looking or know someone that would love a fantastic standard puppy, send them to our website. We are also on AKC Marketplace. Here is a video we shot this weekend of the puppies playing outside.

Week 7 Update – The maturing of the puppies continues

The quest to mature their palettes proceeds, they now have been introduced to all proteins (except pork), all grains (except corn), and the following fruits and vegetables – carrots, peas, green beans and apples. We have also introduced them to a variety of kibble and a select few ground dog foods. Our effort is to ensure your puppy has been exposed and is used to a wide variety of foods so when they come home to their forever home, they will not be a picky eater!

They are starting to get a chance to roam around a larger area of the house and they have been getting the opportunity to go outside multiple times a day (when the weather is nice!

The effort now is on trimming faces and feet as they have a date with a conformation specialist to see who is our conformation dogs! These are the dogs that breeders will take into the ring to compete in AKC events. If they are not taken by a breeder then these special pups will be available as pets.

One final note, we no longer have any females available but all our available boys are perfect little gentlemen and would love to go home with you!

Week 6 Update of the Puppy Progress

Sorry I missed week 5, lots of things were happening and I couldn’t get to the computer to write a post.

The transition to real food is complete, they have eaten all of the raw meats we feed (chicken, lamb, beef, turkey), starches, dairies and grains (rice, oatmeal, potatoes, egg, yogurt) as well as vegetables (carrots and peas). They are also getting some different puppy kibble mixed in.

They have received their second worming dose and their weight gain is tracking nicely, they are all over 5 pounds now.

they play hard and sleep harder, they will start going outside this week now that the weather has started to warm up a bit into the 60’s. We will see how long that will last but with their coat, they are good to go in cooler temps!

The puppies have a playmate, our kitten Betty Boop has decided she is a puppy and spends her time with them, look in the box and you will see her.

We received our new puppy for ourselves! She is a silver from Clifton Standards and she will be going for conformation early next year.
